For me, the list is massive. No way one person can play
every single game they hear about, let alone every game in existence. Sometimes
you just don’t have the money for it or it’s a console exclusive for a console
you don’t own. This might be a bit of a nostalgia trip for some of you, but
I’ll narrow it down to one game I REALLY wanted to play, but never had the
chance to. That game for me is Animal
Crossing.
How could I have missed out? Well, for starters I never
owned a Gamecube. That means I missed out on the entire Gamecube selection, but
I mainly wanted to try Animal Crossing.
Everyone I knew had this game and they praised it as the best game ever. “You
can do anything! It remembers your birthday! It’s going to last forever!” In a
way, the game was designed so that the longer you play, the more fun it gets. I
never quite understood that, but it’s still popular to this day (and still on
systems I don’t own).
Did I miss out on a neat game? Yes. Am I worse off because
of it? Not really. I have my own gaming memories with each console generation
(starting with PS1) and they were great. My question for you is right up there
in the title: what’s a game you’ve heard of, but never played? Was it something
you really wanted? Or was it something that wasn’t that interesting to you at
the time, but now you’re curious?
